Soho is one of London’s leading gourmet destinations but, according to entrepreneur and film producer Hannan Kattan, until recently it was missing one vital ingredient – authentic Palestinian cuisine. Enter Tabun Kitchen, founded by Kattan, which is packed full of Middle Eastern flavours. The venue takes its name from the traditional Tabun oven, a mainstay of Palestinian cooking, and the restaurant boasts its own modernised version.

The menu includes a selection of mezze dishes to share, with highlights such as grilled halloumi with black sesame, or crispy, flavourful Jerusalem falafel which comes with a moreish tahini aubergine salad. Tabun Kitchen offers standout presentation, with traditional dishes served in a very thoughtful, beautiful and modern way.

A great example of this is the selection of dishes from the grill, including delicious lamb served three ways – a trio of marinated fillet, spiced kofta and tahini kofta. Grilled prawns which are dressed with chilli, lemon and coriander. Both of these dishes taste exceptional and we recommend accompanying them with sides of Za’atar fries, seasoned with the delicious herb blend, and a classic fattoush salad with pomegranate.
