Pizza Pilgrims arrives in Covent Garden

With its traditional Neapolitan-style pizzas and great cocktails, the new Pizza Pilgrims restaurant is an ideal pre- or post-theatre dining spot

Isabella Redmond Styles ,

Pizza Pilgrims has been a trailblazer for gourmet and authentic pizzerias in the UK capital, and its success is set to continue with the brand’s recent opening in Covent Garden. Under the slogan ‘in crust we trust’, Pizza Pilgrims uses only the best and freshest produce for its handmade pizzas. Customers can expect ingredients shipped directly from Naples as well as handmade dough that is meticulously made the Neapolitan way. Why not order a Pococello Sour to start things off? This deliciously sweet and sour cocktail is made with Pizza Pilgrims’ own limoncello – a mix of Amalfi lemons and Chase English vodka.

Enjoy a serving of plump, flavourful olives and aromatic garlic, rosemary and Parmesan flatbread before moving on the main attraction. Pizzas range from a classic margherita to Salsiccia e Friarielli, a delicious white pizza topped with fennel sausage, wild broccoli, chilli and basil, or the folded Calzone Ripieno, stuffed with salami from Naples, ricotta and mushrooms. It’s also worth keeping an eye out for the daily specials. Those who still have room can enjoy desserts including a delicious affogato – vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of espresso – or the wickedly good Nutella and salted-ricotta pizza ring.
