Sample bold, brasserie-style cuisine at new City hotspot, Broadleaf

Get a feel for City life at Broadleaf, a suave yet lively brasserie and bar that makes the best of British produce in its well thought out menu of comforting treats and healthy plates. The latest destination from the ETM group is one to add to your London foodie list

Feature
Sally McIlhone,

The City is a great place to enjoy drinks and dinner, surrounded by the work-hard, play-hard crowd whose offices are in the area and who enjoy the finer things in life. At Broadleaf, tucked beside Tower 42, that means moreish food, exemplary service and a tailored selection of wines and cocktails. Order an aperitif cocktail from the well-curated list and then enjoy starters, including delicious macaroni and cheese croquettes with truffle mayonnaise, salt and pepper squid, and charred cauliflower Gruyère with braised lentils and crispy kale.

Mains options cater for all appetites, whether you prefer a light seared tuna niçoise salad or a buttermilk fried chicken burger. Traditionalists will certainly be taken with the pie of the day, the rare breed Cumbrian steaks and our favourite, the slow-braised Cumbrian Longhorn short rib of beef with dauphinoise potatoes, glazed shallots and braising juices. Fish options will satisfy healthy eaters and include pan-fried Torbay hake with creamed mash, mussels, red pepper relish and fried sage, Devon crab linguini, and salmon fish cake. Side dishes achieve the perfect balance of seasonal veg and the crave-satisfying carbs we know and love; for no one can deny the joyous power of a perfectly executed hand-cut chip.

Save room for dessert, for which a sumptuous sticky toffee pudding with cornflake ice cream is available alongside a stellar cheesecake and two tarts ‒ chocolate and caramel and cranberry and almond Bakewell. If you lack a sweet tooth, look no further than the European cheese board, served with quince chutney and oat toast. Dessert wines, teas and coffees are available to accompany this last fanfare of your meal.
