The Victoria and Albert Museum’s long-awaited Shoes: Pleasure and Pain exhibition is one of the summer’s most anticipated. Opening this weekend, on 13 June, it will show visitors extremes of footwear from around the globe, with over 200 pairs of historic and contemporary shoes on display. The exhibition will explore a striking array of historic shoes, including examples originating from ancient Egypt and India, showcased alongside contemporary models.
