As the temperature drops and the nights draw in, London’s cosiest restaurants come into their own. The Cavendish is one such spot, located on a peaceful Marylebone street, conveniently close to Oxford Circus. Open from 8am-11pm, this modern brasserie certainly provides comfort in the colder weather. Its elegant interior offers a classic take on the traditional pub and customers can expect a Mediterranean-influenced fine dining twist to their meal. Once you are seated in a sumptuous velvet chair at a solid oak table, you should turn your attention to the cocktail menu.

Drinks range from warming favourites such as the Barrel-Aged Negroni to a great selection of non-alcoholic mixes, including the Bello de Nonna, an autumnal blend of pear purée, lemon, apple juice and cinnamon sugar. Starters are fresh and flavourful, with highlights including burrata with caponata and sun-dried tomato, and chopped artichoke, sweetcorn, and avocado salad, which delivers both taste and texture.

You should leave plenty of room for one of the Cavendish’s hearty main courses, such as the restaurant’s signature 100 Layers Lasagne, or seasonal rabbit ravioli, which is served with pickled beetroot and Parmesan cream. Those who require extra sustenance before venturing back into the winter weather should opt for the banana bread pudding garnished with peanut crumble.
