British heritage brand Burberry, renowned for its timeless, classic, check-lined trench coats, has launched its blanket poncho for autumn/winter 2014/15. We first previewed the designs on the catwalk back in February and they were an instant hit with the fashion press and celebrities alike.
Burberry’s chief executive and chief creative officer Christopher Bailey was inspired by traditional equestrian blankets for the design of the poncho. Staying true to the brand’s traditional British roots, each poncho is handcrafted in Scotland by Johnstons of Elgin, using the finest-quality lambswool and cashmere. The ponchos feature an autumnal colour palette of camel, black, red and blue to create the famous house check print and are also reversible. Make your poncho unique by personalising it with your initials – a service which has already proved popular with a host of celebrities and models, including Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Olivia Palermo.
