Board Games opens at Selfridges’ Concept Store

Selfridges’ Concept Store is being transformed into the Board Room, the ultimate shopping destination for surfers and skateboarders. Showcasing more than 50 limited-edition skateboards by world-famous designers from Erdem and Stella McCartney to Dries Van Noten, as well as a host of other exclusive events, this is the place to get kitted out for your board sport

Emily Scrivener,

From today, Selfridges’ temporary retail space the Concept Store will be turned into the Board Room, an area dedicated to the hottest surf and skateboard shopping.

More than 50 designers, including Christian Louboutin, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Isabel Marant, have contributed their own skateboard designs, many taking inspiration from their current spring/summer 2014 collections.

In addition to the high-fashion boards, customers will be able to shop the largest selection of sweatshirts, T-shirts, backpacks and trainers ever stocked at Selfridges – perfect for those wanting to emulate skateboard chic. We love the Giuseppe Zanotti leopard-print slip-ons.

Highlights of the collections include Christopher Kane’s must-have Swarovski cut-out sweatshirt; MCM’s exclusive floral backpack; and the event’s centrepiece, Kenzo’s spring/summer 2014 No Fish No Nothing clothing.

Beauty buffs will be pleased to hear that the Beauty Workshop will offer an eclectic mix of beauty products, taking you from city chic to beach chic. Pay special attention to the hair chalks which promise to be a huge trend this spring.
