For spring/summer 2015, the best make-up looks take their cue from the free-spirited, bohemian girls of the 1970s. Designers such as Etro chose loose, natural waves, an interesting move away from the studied looks of autumn/winter 2014.
Skin was kept fresh, with many designers opting for a natural base with minimal coverage, an effortless and easy look for summer. We love Dior’s Nude Air foundation; the lighter serum formula is ideal for creating a glowing and natural base. Like the Woodstock-inspired hair, eye make-up referenced the 1970s, with geometric eyeliner a strong focus on numerous catwalks. Colour also came into play, with pops of colour adding a playful accent. Elie Saab used washes of turquoise across the eyes, giving a party-ready edge, while red lips made a bold return with electric corals, deep berry shades and sultry scarlets. We love Missoni’s take on the red lip: use a colour like Tom Ford’s sheer, shiny Sweet Spot lipstick and dab on with the ring finger for a slightly undone, stain effect.
