Souvenir: Recline on Turkish fine art

Julia Harte ,

Dream of the treasures at the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art while resting against a pillow featuring Ördekli Havuzun Kıyısında Yürüyüş (Promenade by the Duck Pond), a painting by one of Turkey’s best-known expressionist artists, Fikret Muallâ. This is one work of art you won’t find in the museum, as it is currently in a private collection. But the pillow means you can bring home a souvenir of Muallâ — the avant-garde artist who befriended Picasso in 50s Paris and remains peerless among 20th-century Turkish painters.
