Istanbul’s Bağdat Caddesi shopping area

Not technically a shopping ‘mall’, Bağdat Caddesi is a wide, tree-lined boulevard on the Anatolian side of Istanbul and a favourite outdoor shopping area for the city’s visitors and locals alike

City Guide
Sally Ashley-Cound,

The area around Bağdat Caddesi, which stretches for 14km on Istanbul’s Anatolian side, has been an upmarket residential district since its wooden chalet mansions were built in the late 19th century. Today, many of these grand houses still survive as the homes of some of the world’s most exclusive and luxurious brands.

Much of Bağdat Caddesi’s shopping area is concentrated along a wide, tree-lined section between Bostancı and Kızıltoprak, which is often busy with shoppers seven days a week.

Bağdat Caddesi is the place to spend a day strolling along and shopping in the stores of some of the best global brands, such as Longchamp, Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger, as well as local Turkish names including Vakko and Brandroom.
