Istanbul prepares for 40 days and 40 nights of shopping madness


Istanbul, one of the most world’s most dynamic cities, will become the global capital of shopping and entertainment during the Istanbul Shopping Fest, which runs from 18 March to 26 April. Stores in the city’s shopping centres and in the heart of its shopping districts, such as Nişantaşı, İstiklal Caddesi and Bağdat Caddesi, will become a shopping paradise for brand-conscious tourists. The Istanbul Shopping Fest, which begins on 18 March, will welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors over 40 days and 40 nights. The giant festival, which runs until 26 April, will reinforce once again Istanbul’s reputation as the city that never sleeps as it becomes the world’s shopping capital for 40 straight days. The festival will include 24-hour shopping and substantial discounts, as well as shows, concerts and festivals. Ninety modern shopping malls are taking part in the event, offering hundreds of brand names both Turkish and international in the city’s Taksim, Nişantaşı, Şişli, Bakırköy, Fatih, Bahariye and Bağdat Caddesi districts, as well as in the more traditional shopping venues such as the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Market (also known as the Egyptian Bazaar).
