Where do you live?
What’s best about your neighbourhood?
Nişantaşı is Istanbul’s most exclusive district for shopping, fashion and entertainment, where you always come across luxury brands and independent fashion designers’ stores. I think it is great to find all of them together in Nişantaşı.
If money were no object, where would you live?
The spirit of Istanbul is unique, but who could say no to some other apartments in New York City and Tokyo?
Which are your favourite Istanbul stores?
As multi-brand stores, Midnight Express, Beymen Blender and V2K Designers are my favourites. Serdar-ı Ekrem Caddesi in Galata, known for its high-end fashion boutiques and chic shops, is also one of my destinations for discovering new shops.
And your favourite restaurants?
Banyan in Ortaköy for Asian fusion food, Hünkar in Nişantaşı for Ottoman and Turkish food and Set Balık in Tarabya, my favourite fish restaurant.
Do you have a favourite local café or bar?
Delicatessen in Nişantaşı is my favourite place to meet friends.
Where do you take out-of-town friends?
Balıkçı Sabahattin in Sultanahmet or Pandeli in the Spice Bazaar, where you can enjoy delicious aubergine salad with an incredible view of historical Istanbul.
Where do you like to celebrate?
I prefer cosy and comfortable places and Café 49 in Çukurcuma is a perfect place that fulfils all my expectations.
Do you have a favourite walk in Istanbul?
Anadolu Hisarı, where my parents live, is near the Bosphorus and a great place to take a walk.
Which are the city’s top attractions?
In the historical peninsula, everyone can really experience the magic of Istanbul. The Princes’ Islands, a secret paradise near Istanbul, are also a must-see for visitors.
