Alexander Wang was once quoted as saying ‘They wanted colour, they got colour!’ after a predominantly black collection the season before. It seems he’s continued his determination to use colour at every opportunity with these canary yellow heeled sandals which have just arrived in stores.
The young designer has come a long way since he dropped out of Parsons School for Design to launch his first ready-to-wear collection in 2007. He won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award, worth $200,000, in 2008; his collections are now stocked in over 30 premier stores across the world, including Selfridges London, Beymen Istanbul, Browns London and Barneys New York and he has just opened a 5,000-square-foot flagship store in Beijing.
Wang’s designs always embody his casually cool, edgy attitude to fashion and these Carmen suede yellow and grey heels are no exception. With their simple design, bold colourway, this season’s ankle strap and a heel that’s just high enough, they’re perfect for looking stylish, yet wearers can still hop in and out of a city cab quickly.
