Omega returns to its roots for Baselworld

Omega returns to Baselworld with an elegant feminine edge to its Constellation collection, while the men’s Speedmaster receives a new automatic movement

Marina Nelson,

After launching an 18-carat rose gold watch last year, Omega is back for Baselworld 2014 with an elegant Constellation timepiece for women and a sporty Speedmaster chronograph for men.

The Constellation Plume watch features a small 27mm dial delicately enhanced with mother-of-pearl. Available in a sea blue and tinted white, each piece has diamond indexes set in 18-carat gold for an elegant but subtle statement.

For men, the popular Speedmaster Mark II chronograph from 1969 has been updated with an automatic self-winding mechanism, a durable silicone spring and a small tachymetric scale, viewable in dim lighting.

Racing enthusiasts will appreciate the multi-use interface, with sub-dials that offer a 30-minute and a 12-hour recorder respectively and a miniature seconds dial for precision when taking part in extreme sports.
