Lela Scherrer, one of Switzerland’s brightest up-and-coming designers, will be opening her showroom for personal consultations and tailor-made fittings after launching her autumn/winter collection. ‘I get most of my inspiration through travelling,’ she says. ‘Influences on my work come from art, design, historical and traditional clothes. To free my mind I love gardening in my country house in Ticino, in the southern Alpine-Mediterranean part of Switzerland.’ Scherrer began her career working with the likes of Dries Van Noten, Elle magazine, Walter Van Beirendonck and Wim Neels and is now a design star in her own right: check out her peacock-feather shawls and faux-fur cocktail dresses.
