Van Cleef and Arpels nods to the bloom of springtime with an innovative new watch that features a unique moving dial. Unveiled at the SIHH 2017 fine watches trade fair, the Lady Arpels Papillon Automate features an exclusive automated model butterfly which flutters randomly against the background of a spring garden. Encased in a large 38mm white gold case, the diamond-set watch is lit up by blue and mauve sapphires and stunning mother-of-pearl. Developed in the Van Cleef & Arpels watchmaking workshop in Meyrin, Geneva, the butterfly flutters its wings 19 times every hour when the watch is stationary, more frequently when the wearer is moving around.
