City Guide
Hannah Lewis,

‘I live in Södermalm in the heart of Stockholm. It has great shops, restaurants and cafés. I have all I need just around the corner and it’s a big plus that it’s only a five-minute walk to the Nudie Jeans office and to our flagship store, which is filled with lovely denim.

Grandpa has a very good mix of clothes, gifts and lots of other items, while in Aplace you can find a selection of the best Scandinavian brands. For the last 10 years, the guys behind Sneakersnstuff have given the Swedes the most original sneakers. My friends at Sandqvist have managed to combine style and function with a great price tag. In their flagship store you´ll find Sandqvist’s popular canvas backpacks, which are perfect for the city or for the outdoors. Dusty Deco is a great place for people who love vintage interior design.

‘When it comes to eating, Svartengrens specialises in locally produced food and serves great drinks. For Swedish dishes, go to Oxelblom which has a cosy atmosphere and nice staff, and if you want to snack on small dishes, go to Reggev Hummus & Espresso bar on Ringvägen. Nytorget 6 makes the best lunch in the Södermalm area, while Pelikan is a traditional place serving beer and food; the members of staff never change. Snotty Sound Bar is simple but nice; it’s located just across the street from my office so quite often I slip in on my way home from work. Riche kitchen and bar has maintained its popularity over the years and you can always trust this place.

‘When you’re exploring Stockholm, the Monteliusvägen area offers a beautiful view over the city. You can always see good photography at Fotografiska, and when it comes to museums I always seem to end up looking at the fish at Aquaria Vattenmuseum, otherwise known as the aquarium!

‘You can walk around Stockholm as it’s not that big. Just start anywhere in the city and ask people to help you find your way around. People are friendly and helpful and Stockholm is a safe place to be wherever you end up.’
