Salt brings Californian cuisine to Catalonia

Combining the fresh seafood cuisine of California with high-quality Mediterranean produce, Salt offers a unique dining experience

Verity Hogan
Verity Hogan,

Adding a flavour of California to Mediterranean ingredients, the menu at Salt offers one of Spain’s most unusual fusion cuisines. The restaurant’s superb location on Barcelona’s beachfront is reflected in its interior décor, designed by Isabel López Vilalta. Its menu features a selection of gourmet burgers alongside local specialities. Expect fresh oysters, beef carpaccio and Wagyu steak to compete for attention with chicken burgers topped with mango chutney and asparagus, and lamb burgers with red onions and spicy cucumber and mint yoghurt dip. This season the menu has been extended by chef Sergio Dominguez and now features ceviche, seafood-based tapas and platillos to share. Be sure to end your meal with a Salt Townie combining a chocolate brownie with a chocolate tartlet, topped with raspberry sauce and served with a side of passion fruit sorbet.
