Dropping in stores this month, Fendi’s Resort collection revisits its signature bold style, with a graphic update for millennial consumers

Sufiyeh Hadian-Clarke,

The Fendi Resort 2018 collection stays faithful to the signature style of the Italian fashion house, with a line-up highlighted by mink fur, pearl detailing and texture-rich logo handbags.

For this collection, creative director Karl Lagerfeld opted for less masculine tailoring and added a lot of neon and pop attitude. Outerwear featured a prominent mix of different fabrics, colours and details, and standout pieces included a hot fuchsia checked coat, paired with a matching pleated skirt in the same shade and pattern. Maxi checks were also showcased on many other coats and dresses.

The dresses gave an air of whimsy to the collection and ranged from lace pieces in yellow and orange to more elegant styles in black and embroidered white. One of the most eye-catching versions was a beautiful wide silk dress with painted flowers.

Large pearls placed on chokers and coats offered a softer side to the range. Handbags came in a variety of different colours, shapes and sizes, and were accessorised with pearls and other embellishments. For footwear, knit boots were a popular silhouette and the collection also included high heels paired with socks.
