Marina Bay area

Often overlooked in favour of Orchard Road, the Marina Bay area is quickly gaining prominence as a top shopping district, with impressive international brands and malls. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands shopping mall houses more than 300 stores, as well as other exciting entertainment concepts such as Singapore’s first skating rink and a canal. Marina Square offers visitors the chance to shop high-street boutiques such as British brands Marks & Spencer, The Body Shop and HMV.

Orchard Road

Orchard Road is Singapore’s prime shopping district and the best-known. Stretching for 2.2km, the avenue is packed with over 20 shopping centres, exclusive restaurants and stylish bars. ION Orchard is the latest addition to the avenue and features eight levels of shopping space with over 300 exclusive stores, with brands such as Cartier, Dior and Prada. With more than 60% of the mall dedicated to flagships, ION is a must-visit for the latest collections and in-store exclusives.

VivoCity is the largest shopping mall in Singapore. It is an iconic retail, entertainment and lifestyle destination that offers an unprecedented number of high-end designer brands and covers everything from fashion to electronics. Away from the bustle of Orchard Road, VivoCity covers 90,000 square metres, giving visitors plenty of room to relax after a busy day of shopping. Featuring restaurants with panoramic views of the sea, brand-new shopping concepts and labels and 15 cinemas, VivoCity is the ultimate place to indulge in some retail therapy.

Haji Lane

Located in the Muslim Quarter, Haji Lane is a must-see for those wanting to explore some of Singapore’s hip boutiques and brands. A popular destination with hipsters and bloggers, the area is full of quirky stores selling everything from fashion and furnishings to food. Haji Lane is a must-visit for hidden vintage gems, unusual souvenirs or as an alternative experience to Singapore’s plush department stores.

Little India

Those searching for an alternative to Singapore’s shopping malls should venture down to Little India. A treasure trove of antiques, textile shops and food stalls, Little India is a buzzing district and a real must-see. Here, mosques and temples sit next to vibrant stalls and bohemian boutiques. Don’t leave without visiting the Mustafa Centre, a 24-hour shopping mall offering everything from electronics to groceries.
