The history of Papelarias Emílio Braga

Indulge in the luxury of great stationery with Papelarias Emílio Braga, a Portuguese company with a rich heritage

Gemma Latham
Gemma Latham,

In an era when putting pen to paper has become a rarity, those moments when you do choose to write instead of type are the perfect opportunity to indulge in a little luxury. Emílio de Silva Braga founded his stationery company in 1918, and it soon gained the reputation of being the finest in the land. Four generations of his family have produced completely handmade stationery at the factory-come-shop in Prior Velho, on the outskirts of Lisbon, ever since. The iconic pocket-sized Galocha notebook features a hardwearing spine and corners, and comes lovingly bound in a range of colourful fabrics.
