Gwyneth Holland,

How did you first get into blogging?
Posh Broke & Bored started in 2009 as a parody of a London club kid scene photographer. We’d poke fun at that photographer’s shoots of skinny waifs lounging around in filthy flats; we staged our own shoots, but replaced cans of cider with bottles of Dom Pérignon. Eventually I realised that my life was pretty ridiculous (constant holidays and endless parties), whether or not satire was the intention, so writing a lifestyle blog was the next natural step.

How would you describe your style?

In autumn and winter my style is classic, luxurious and tactile ‒ fur coats, cashmere, leather, and suede ‒ so I can wear the comfort of my warm bed everywhere I go.
In spring my style is transitional, similar to winter but with more streamlined silhouettes and with light fabrics underneath, and just a little more colour. In summer my style is colourful, sometimes lazy (I don’t do well in the heat) and trendy. Summer is when I wear every single trend at once and look like a crazy bag lady.

Who is your biggest style inspiration?
Peony Lim ‒ she’s the perfect mix of classic, feminine chic and bold, avant-garde style.

Which three items are currently at the top of your wish list?
A Pashli backpack in white or nude; a Zimmermann bikini; and Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots in taupe to complete my camel, taupe and white spring capsule wardrobe.

What has been your favourite designer purchase to date?
My yellow Louis Vuitton tote, from the Yayoi Kusama collaboration.

Which cities have you visited recently, and which are your favourite to shop in?
This year I’ve visited Riga, Latvia; Bangkok, Thailand; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Sabah, North Borneo in Malaysia. My favourite cities to shop in are Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur for beauty products and trendy, summery pieces such as printed jumpsuits, beaded sandals, and fun clutches. I shop in Paris and London for the classics ‒ coats, boots and leather handbags.

How would you describe Kuala Lumpur’s style?
Colourful and creative (KL-ites have to be clever to dress for the hot, humid weather), with an emphasis on prints and accessories.

Where do you like to shop in Kuala Lumpur?
My friend’s boutique On A Cloudy Day for trendy pieces from east Asia and for the occasional sample sale-priced designer piece. Clothing stalls in Berjaya Times Square and Sungei Wang Plaza for no-brand clothes and also for mobile phone cases that will be trending in the West six months later ‒ Malaysians had 2014’s Chanel perfume bottle iPhone case way before this was was available in London.

Louis Vuitton at Star Hill for the exceptional service. The staff always reserve limited-edition pieces for me, and they host private parties in their secret room where we can browse, have tea and shop at our leisure and privacy.

Shoes Shoes Shoes at Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru, for quirky and edgy shoes.

Do you have any Kuala Lumpur eatery recommendations?
Every KL-ite worth her salt knows that the street food in Malaysia is second to none. Check out the food stalls in Jalan Alor for authentic Malaysian-Chinese food, and Acme Bar & Coffee at the Troika for fusion and Italian. For the best Ramlee burger in Malaysia, venture to SS15.

Tell us three places in Kuala Lumpur you think everyone should visit …
Suria KLCC for a stroll in the gardens, then pop over to M Marini Caffè for a cup of tea and a cocktail to cool down.

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is the world’s largest free-flight aviary and worth a visit to walk freely with the birds. Spa Village at The Ritz Carlton is the place to have a lazy day – I love lounging by the pool and popping in for a Campur-Campur massage.
