Homme Plissé Issey Miyake opens in the heart of Tokyo's Daikanyama area, where menswear pieces are architecturally placed above eye level, creating a unique and contemporary store design for the creative modern man

The first Homme Plissé Issey Miyake store opened in Tokyo’s Daikanyama district during the summer of 2015. The building is the vision of Naoto Fukasawa and features a unique trapezoid design, with clothes hung from beams above eye level – making the collections on display look as if they are suspended in mid-air. Building on Issey Miyake’s original ‘garment pleating’ process, the new Homme Plissé collection itself consists of contemporary, architectural menswear pieces crafted from wrinkle-resistant and quick-drying fabrics, blending form and functionality and making the clothes on offer as innovative as their new home.
