Ginza Six: Tokyo’s impressive new shopping complex

Spring 2017 saw the opening of the impressive 47,000-square-metre Ginza Six retail space in Tokyo’s Ginza neighbourhood, which houses 241 brands, including 121 flagship stores. The complex also houses restaurants and cafés, offices, a rooftop garden, a tourist information centre and a cultural space complete with a traditional Noh theatre. We take a look at some of the must-visit stores in the new space

Ginger Rose Clark,

Céline’s first flagship store in Ginza Six is nothing short of beautiful. Ceramic sculptures, handmade by artisans, adorn the façade. Inside, the décor includes parquet made of 11 different types of marble; furniture and fixtures made of wood, pebbles and ceramics; and objets d’art by Danish artist FOS. Against this elegant backdrop, shop the label’s covetable collections.

This is Belstaff’s first store in Tokyo. Here you can browse the British heritage brand’s womenswear, menswear and accessories. Highlights include the spring/summer 2017 collection co-designed with style icon Liv Tyler and a Ginza Capsule that is exclusive to the new store.

Dior presents an impressive new space that spans five floors, with interiors designed by Peter Marino, a long-time Dior collaborator. The result is a modern atmosphere that serves as an elegant backdrop to the brand’s leather goods, accessories, jewellery, timepieces and women’s ready-to-wear, as well as the Dior Homme and Dior Maison lines and the VIP Salon. The French brand even has its own Café Dior by Pierre Hermé on the third floor, which is the perfect place to relax.

Amsterdam-based denim label Denham’s Ginza Six store is its 10th in Tokyo. Besides the collections for men and women, the store features a children’s corner with the brand’s offering for younger customers. A denim lab, complete with laundry room, offers a service menu that allows you to have your jeans hemmed and repaired. Check out the special Made in Japan denim collection, before grabbing a drink at the coffee bar.

Luggage expert Tumi’s new retail space is located on the fifth floor of the department store. Shop the brand’s range of luggage and travel accessories, and be sure to check out the special limited-edition Tumi for Ginza Six collection, which is exclusive to the store.
