City Guide
Verity Hogan,

As you might expect from a city dedicated to fashion, Milan has an array of suitably stylish nightspots. Lacerba is one of its more laidback venues and the perfect place to while away long summer evenings. Its Mediterranean menu makes the most of flavourful fresh seafood; typical dishes include turbot topped with courgette flowers and red pepper, aubergine gnocchi with clams and a popular lobster linguine. After dinner, head to the lounge bar, which has a summer-ready soundtrack, extensive wine list and varied cocktail menu.

Il Paesaggio by Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo
Giving visitors a unique opportunity to study an Italian masterpiece in depth, the Galleria d’Arte Ambrosiana’s latest exhibition is dedicated to Il Paesaggio (‘the Journey’) by artist Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo. On show until 15 June, Il Paesaggio is one of the country’s most famous examples of pointillist painting thanks to its carefully mixed colours and expert execution. The painting has been hidden away from public view in private collections for the past 40 years, so don’t miss out on the chance to see this unique piece and find out the story of its creation.

Hotel Principe di Savoia
The opulent Hotel Principe di Savoia offers everything one would expect from a luxury hotel. The embodiment of old-world charm, the traditional décor has an elegant 19th- century Lombard design that hides a host of cleverly integrated modern facilities. The recently renovated suites are the most sought after; with views across the piazza, the Venetian is especially luxurious with gold and turquoise décor and an exquisite Murano glass mirror. The in-house restaurant provides diners with a comprehensive introduction to traditional Milanese cuisine while the spa, with its own roof terrace, is designed for relaxation with a heated pool, Jacuzzi and five massage suites.
