The best pasta dishes in Venice

For the best pasta in Venice head to one of our recommended restaurants, where the classic Italian cuisine is often served with some of the city’s finest seafood

City Guide
Katie Ramsingh,

The best pasta dishes in Venice are nutritious and rich in flavour, with an emphasis on seafood and fresh fish caught locally in the city’s lagoon. We list four of the finest restaurants in Venice for pasta dishes.

Ristorante Quadri
The only fine-dining restaurant overlooking Venice’s famous Piazza San Marco, Ristorante Quadri has a Michelin star and a menu based on contemporary interpretations of traditional Venetian dishes. We recommend the mezzi paccheri pasta, filled with raw fish and shellfish and covered in a pistachio sauce with saffron drops. A perfect blend of classic Italian flavours and Venetian fish, this dish is everything we love about the city of Venice on one plate.

Osteria di Santa Marina
This small but elegant bistro-style restaurant has a warm, welcoming traditional interior and is known for creating classic Venetian cuisine with a twist. One of its best pasta dishes has to be the sea-bass ravioli in mussel and clam broth, a mouth-watering combination of handmade pasta and fresh seafood presented in a cellophane package that is cut open at the table for added effect.

Club del Doge
A spectacular panoramic terrace over the Grand Canal means dining at the Club del Doge is a must when visiting Venice. Executive chef Daniele Turco has created a menu of award-winning pasta dishes, which include our top choice: the spaghetti Felicetti with mullet bottarga and zucchini cream. It’s fresh and utterly delicious.

Antico Martini
Once a coffee shop that served the actors from the Fenice theatre in Campo San Fantin, Antico Martini, which first opened in 1720, is now one of the best restaurants in Venice. For a mouth-watering meal you’ll never forget, order the Gragnano wholewheat pennette with cuttlefish and peas.
