Katie Ramsingh
Katie Ramsingh,

Montegrappa has chosen footballing legend Pelé as the latest notable figure to join its Icons pen collection. With Brazil hosting the World Cup this year it makes perfect sense to choose 2014 as the time to honour this Brazilian sporting hero.

The Pelé Icons limited-edition pen collection consists of two designs, the Heritage and the P-10. The Heritage models are available with solid gold or silver trim and feature a crown with the words All Hail The King around its circumference. The Heritage solid silver trim edition consists of 1,283 fountain and rollerball pens, representing the number of goals Pelé scored during his career, while the gold edition is limited to 10 fountain pens and 10 roller balls, signifying his jersey number.

The P-10 model features silver trims inspired by the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, the colours of Brazil in enamel and a miniature football with a sapphire at its top. There are 1,940 pieces in total, in fountain pen, rollerball or ballpoint, representing the year of Pelé’s birth. The P-10 edition also will be offered in an exclusive version consisting of 10 fountain pens and 10 rollerballs with solid 18-carat gold trim.
