Salotto 42
Salotto 42 has been named by many as one of the best bars in the world. The cocktail bar, which is situated on Piazza di Pietra, is decorated with bookshelves containing volumes about fashion, film and music. Stylish armchairs line the walls, and drinks are put together by talented barman Alberto Caleffi. This is the perfect place to visit for a sophisticated and chic evening out.

La Terrasse
If it’s spectacular views you’re looking for, La Terrasse is the perfect Roman go-to bar. The award-winning restaurant and bar is located at the top of the Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese hotel, and serves a selection of wines, Champagnes and spirits. The décor is bright and vibrant, and offers visitors the chance to relax on comfortable soft seats or gaze out on to the city. We recommend dropping in just as the sun sets for an especially enjoyable experience.

Freni e Frizioni
For a youthful and fun experience, we recommend Freni e Frizioni. The bar has become a hangout for young professionals looking for an enjoyable evening out. Always busy, the bar has a buzzing atmosphere every night. It’s especially popular in the summer months, and also serves main dishes and desserts, including plenty of delicious vegetarian options.

Cinecaffè Casina delle Rose
The perfect day-to-evening establishment, Cinecaffè Casina delle Rose is a great place to relax, sip a cocktail or have a lovely meal with wine. Located near the beautiful gardens of the Villa Borghese, the bar is a real find. However, it can often get busy, so we recommend getting there early

The First Hotel
The First Hotel is the definition of pure luxury, and has not one, but two bar options. For dinner and drinks in summer, we suggest the Roof Garden, which offers breathtaking views of the city – perfect for a romantic evening. If you just want drinks, check out the Lounge Bar, where you’ll find soft music, delicious cocktails and an intimate atmosphere. The First Hotel, Via del Vantaggio 14, 00186 Rome, +39 06 4561 7070
