Montblanc’s new Patron of Art pens

The 2013 additions to Montblanc’s limited-edition Patron of Art collection are revealed

Katie Ramsingh,

For 22 years, Montblanc’s Patron of Art collection has celebrated the contribution of historical figures to the arts. This year the collection pays homage to Ludovico Sforza, a former duke of Milan; Sforza was one of the most prominent patrons of the Italian Renaissance and was also the protector of artist Leonardo da Vinci.

Two writing instruments have been released in his honour; the Limited Edition 888, which features solid gold fittings and a contrasting majestic blue lacquer and the sterling silver Limited Edition 4810, with a cap and barrel featuring da Vinci’s intricate designs in silver.

Both pens are engraved with the duke’s coat of arms in acknowledgement of his lasting cultural legacy.
