The Savoy
This hotel is representative of everything the Savoy brand stands for worldwide: luxury, sophistication and impeccable style. Built on the site where the Mercato Vecchio and church of San Tommaso once stood, the hotel combines tradition with modern glamour. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the River Arno, the Ponte Vecchio, Boboli Gardens and the Pitti Palace as well as the finest designer boutiques of Via Roma and Via de’ Tornabuoni.

Many of the rooms offer views of the Piazza della Repubblica and the Duomo. Our favourite suites are the Brunelleschi and the Signoria, both of which have their own steam rooms. We recommend this hotel for those wishing to enjoy great style right in the centre of things.

Room Mate Luca
For something a little different, book yourself into Room Mate Luca, a vibrant hotel with quirky design and lots of character. Impressively situated in a neoclassical palace dating from 1865, this boutique hotel was newly renovated in 2013. It is perfectly located for those on their first trip to Florence, with attractions such as the Duomo just a 10-minute stroll away. Each room is stylishly modern and the hotel’s colour scheme is bright and bold;  we recommend the deluxe suite. It is well worth trying the hotel’s delicious Mediterranean breakfast buffet, which is served until noon.

Il Salviatino
Luxury doesn’t get much finer than at Il Salviatino. Set in a 15th-century villa on the hillside of Fiesole, the hotel offers some of the best views in Tuscany. The hotel has the perfect location, distant enough from the centre of Florence to be free from crowds, and yet near enough to reach the main sights and attractions with ease, especially with the complimentary shuttle service running to the heart of town. Rooms are decorated elegantly and the pool and garden are stunning.

Palazzo Magnani Feroni
As one of the oldest properties in the San Frediano neighbourhood, Palazzo Magnani Feroni is an important part of the heritage of Florence. Step through the 17th-century entrance and you will be transported back in time. Perfect for those who enjoy historic surroundings, the hotel is decorated with crystal chandeliers and flamboyant, painted ceilings. The epitome of luxury, Palazzo Magnani Feroni is surrounded by charming shops and restaurants, and is just a five-minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio.

Gallery Hotel Art
Gallery Hotel Art is a contemporary alternative to some of the more traditional places to stay in the city. The design hotel was created by architect Michele Bönan and is located in an area considered to be the hub of fashion and art. Gallery Hotel Art contains 74 rooms and suites which are designed with highly refined art collections in mind. Materials such as fine linen, cashmere and Tuscan stones feature in the décor, and each suite is named after a symbol of Florence, making the experience particularly special. Sit back and enjoy the art, or, if you’d prefer, the amazing views.
