Starbucks experiments in Amsterdam laboratory

Norain Ahmed,

The new Starbucks Laboratory concept store, the largest Starbucks in Europe, recently launched on Utrechtsestraat, in Amsterdam’s prestigious Rembrandtplein (Rembrandt Square).

The concept store, which experiments constantly with rare and exotic coffee beans and different brewing methods, has already attracted thousands of coffee connoisseurs to its equally innovative home, the historic Amsterdamsche Bank building.

Starbucks’ concept design director Liz Muller has converted the bank’s 430-square-metre vault into a highly sustainable, inviting space. The coffee bar hub also acts as a platform for live entertainment such as local bands and theatrical displays.

Those looking for a unique coffee experience should try the Starbucks Reserve, a range made from the purest and rarest coffee beans that is making its continental European debut at the Amsterdam store, or the coffee from the new Clover brewing process, another new introduction to Europe.
