Apple fans have been waiting for the iPhone 5 for a long time, so excitement has been building. Fans will not be disappointed.
Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller took the stage to announce the new release and take us through the features of the new iPhone. The screen size has been increased from the 3.5in of the iPhone 4s to a roomier 4in. The body design is much sleeker at just 7.6mm thick and weighing 112g – that’s around 20% lighter and thinner than the iPhone 4s.
Inside there’s the iSight 8MP camera with the added ability to stitch together images to produce a 28MP panoramic photo; the Facetime camera on the front has been upgraded to be able to record video. A new A6 processor powers the new phone, making it twice as fast as the previous model, and the retina-display screen produces even brighter and more accurate colours.
The iPhone 5 is available in stores from next week.
