Kalverstraat shopping street: Perfect day

Envelope yourself with a fashion filled day and express yourself through your favourite designers in Amsterdam

City Guide

Start your day at the southern end of Kalverstraat, beginning with a visit to Dutch fashion house Claudia Sträter. The 80s-tinged autumn/winter collection was a big success, and the label’s latest collection of active womenswear is likely to be as popular as ever, especially for fitness fanatics

Take a left down Heiligeweg and drop in to Diesel to check out London-based designer Sophia Kokosalaki’s debut collection for the Black Gold range, which offers a handcrafted, 70s California feel. Retro bohemian silhouettes are one of the key looks this spring/summer so be sure to invest now

Stop at Sissy Boy, a must visit Dutch store founded by Michael Smit in 1982 which stocks clothes for the entire family

Head to Spui 15 for a sushi lunch at the Tokyo Café. The food is excellent, and the experience is even better if you can get a table on the terrace

Drop into upmarket jeweller Siebel, which stocks men’s and women’s accessories from wristwatches to bracelets.

Take a walk into Jack & Jones to explore the denim giant’s new summer range, with cut-offs and shorts likely to take centre stage

Pay a visit to upscale leisure outfitters Peek & Cloppenburg, where you’ll find a range of popular brands including G-Star and Pepe Jeans

Head for dinner at Restaurant d’Theeboom, a hidden gem tucked away at Singel 210 which serves excellent French cuisine
