How did you first get into blogging?
Four or five years ago, my friend’s mum told me about blogging and asked me if I wanted to blog for her shop in Amsterdam. I really did not know anything about blogging, but it was a great opportunity for me, so I said yes! I blogged a couple of months for her at the shop while I was studying at TMO Fashion Business School. After five months I decided to start up my own blog. First it was just for fun but after I graduated I decided to take it more seriously. Now, two years later, it is my full-time job and I never want to do anything else – I love my job!

What’s your favourite thing about being a blogger – and your least favourite?
My favourite thing about blogging is that I can travel a lot and see lots of different places. Besides that, my job is varied which I really like. My least favourite thing is that I am always busy even when I am on a holiday – which I am right now! It is not a big problem, because I love to blog, but you can never stop. Blogging is 24/7 and you have to deal with it!

How would you describe your style?
It’s definitely changed since I started up my blog. In the beginning I mixed everything and wore lots of colours. Now I am way more minimalistic and my motto has become ‘less is more’. I also really do appreciate good quality basics. If I had to label my style I would call it a mix of sporty/minimalistic with a girly twist.

Which trends do you think will be big this spring/summer?
Flared jeans are making a comeback. Besides that, the 1970s are back on track, and I think this trend will carry on during the winter seasons too. For summer we will see sporty items, big skirts and flared jeans.

Which item do you think should be in every girl’s wardrobe?
The little black dress! I have a leather little black dress and I wear it very often. Whenever I’m on the go I always bring this dress. It fits for every occasion and you never go wrong with it.

Whose style do you admire most?
That’s really difficult, as I follow a lot of international bloggers and I get inspired by all of them. It is hard for me to mention a name, but I always check blueisinfashionthisyear.com. I love this website and get inspired by the writer’s posts every day.

What are your beauty essentials?
I am not a beauty blogger, but I love to stroll through Sephora or Douglas. My favourite products are Crème de la Mer cream, Bobbi Brown red lipstick, Aussie shampoo, Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and my YSL mascara.

Which city is your favourite shopping destination and why?
I love to travel and have fallen in love with many cities. My favourites are Florence for LuisaViaRoma, London for vintage and Amsterdam for shopping close by.

Which are your favourite places to shop in Amsterdam?
Strolling through the Nine Streets is my favourite thing to do, but I also love to go to the Noordermarkt vintage market on Mondays. If you want to go there I advise going very early otherwise you will miss the vintage treasures. When I am in Amsterdam I also always pop by Forever 21, the huge Zara and of course de Bijenkorf.

Which restaurants can you recommend in Amsterdam?
There are a lot of restaurants in Amsterdam. The Foodhallen [indoor food market] is amazing to go to: you can choose between different kinds of foods and the atmosphere is amazing. I also like Restaurant de Plantage, Le Pain Quotidien for lunch, and Bar Spek.
