From November until the end of the year, town squares and marketplaces throughout Germany are filled with hundreds of stalls selling everything from traditional carved wooden gifts and glassware to festive food and drink as the world-famous Christmas markets take place

Berlin Christmas market, 26 November to 31 December 2012
