I was born in Hamburg and my main memories of that city are of salty air, cold wind and warm-hearted people. Now I live in Cologne, which I love not only for the city itself but also for its people.
It has a history of great citizens like Konrad Adenauer (chancellor of Germany from 1949 to 1963), and places to see like the Museum für Angewandte Kunst.
Where do you relax?
Most importantly it is a city filled with great people. I love to walk by the Decksteiner Weiher and I also really enjoy watching the cheerful crowd on Rathenauplatz on a sunny day.
Where do you shop?
When shopping for clothes, be sure to visit Daniels on Neumarkt, Herr von Eden on Antwerpenerstrasse and Herrenbude on Rothehausstrasse.
Where do you eat?
When it comes to restaurants, I would recommend Sweet Sushi for Japanese food; Fette Kuh does the best burger in Cologne; and when it comes to Italian food it has to be Mercato Deluxe.
Where do you go on the weekends?
Zum Scheuen Reh is probably my favourite bar; I go there all the time. There is great music at the weekend, and interesting cultural activities during the week. It’s a great place.
