Heritage-inspired tailoring at A Kind of Guise

Since opening in 2009 this Munich-based brand has become known for the quality and wearability of its clothes

Ruairidh Pritchard ,

Located in Munich’s coolest neighbourhood, Schwabing, is one of the city’s newest menswear stores: A Kind Of Guise. Opened by the label of the same name, the store houses A Kind of Guise’s collections of heritage-inspired tailoring, knitwear, shirts and leather accessories. The label’s designs, produced and manufactured solely in Germany, exclusively using local materials, have become well known for their quality and wearability. Launched in 2009 as a student project making clothes and accessories for friends from the leather leftovers of an old medicine ball factory in northern Italy, A Kind Of Guise has grown to become increasingly popular not only among Munich’s best-dressed men but across the rest of Germany and western Europe.
