It’s safe to say Karl Lagerfeld never stops so it’s no surprise to discover that not only is he opening a new Lagerfeld concept store in Munich this September (so we hear) but he has also designed a capsule collection to celebrate the event.
Released on Lagerfeld’s Twitter page just a few hours ago, the hand-drawn initial sketch features a Bavarian-style dirndl skirt with pinafore and blouse – a style popular with many of the guests at the pre-wedding party of Chanel stylist Caroline Seiber this weekend.
From the sketch we can also gather that the capsule collection will have a distinctly punk-rock edge as Lagerfeld shuns the traditional Bavarian colours of green and brown in favour of black, black and more black.
The opening of Lagerfeld’s concept store coincides with one of the most popular times for travelling to Bavaria, due to the Munich Oktoberfest which begins this year on 21 September and finishes on 6 October. This year will be one of the biggest yet as the beer festival is celebrating its 180th year.
