Designer Stella McCartney this afternoon selected Ioana Ciolacu Miron as the Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf Designer for Tomorrow. Ioana Ciolacu Miron was chosen by the British designer and a panel of judges which included Christiane Arp, the editor-in-chief of German Vogue, Melissa Drier from Women’s Wear Daily, editor-in-chief of InStyle Germany Annette Weber and British photographer and blogger Hanneli Mustaparta.
All five finalists, who come from fashion and design institutions across Europe, including those of London, Hamburg and Hanover, showed their collections this afternoon in the Mercedes-Benz tents in the centre of Berlin’s Tiergarten.
The Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf Designer for Tomorrow award promotes up-and-coming design talent as an investment in the renowned department store’s own future and students from all over Europe were invited to submit applications.
Ioana Ciolacu Mironwill get the chance to show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin in January 2014 and will receive guidance in all aspects of the fashion industry, including public relations, production and finance. She will also win studio space and supplier contacts from Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf – a unique opportunity for any designer at the start of their career.
