Outside the connoisseur circles of watch collectors, most of us now keep track of the time on our mobile phones or other electronic gadgets. The watches we do wear now have taken on a different status, as something of decorative rather than functional value – such as Denise Julia Reytan’s clever T1mepeace bracelet. This clever, contemporary statement piece is a cuff modelled on the shape of those simple digital timekeepers popular during the 80s and 90s. A ‘skeleton’ made from stainless steel, the T1mepeace is finished in shades that range from sophisticated silver and gold to electric blue and neon yellow. A stylish homage to a once-ubiquitous accessory, the aim of Reytan’s wristwear, she says, is to ‘remind you to enjoy life and forget about the time’.
