The history of Lloyd shoes

Lloyd has been making quality shoes in Germany for well over a century. We take a look at the heritage of the brand and its growth over the years

Dominique Fenn
Dominique Fenn,

Lloyd is a name that will be familiar to most Germans, as will its reputation for producing quality footwear. Founded as HF Meyer Schuhfabrik, initially in Bremen, it has been perfecting the design and fit of its shoes for 125 years. A newer development, and one that appeals to connoisseurs, is the distinctive trademark red stripe on the heel of each shoe, introduced in 1968. This image, of the factory in Berlin, provides a small insight to the scale of its business; it currently produces around 7,100 pairs of shoes in a day.
