How long have you been connected to Berlin and how has the city changed in that time?
About five years. In that time, Berlin changed a lot in terms of housing and new business development, but also stayed the same in regards to its welcoming creative energy and spirit.
Tell us about your favourite neighbourhood.
Mitte: it’s where I met my husband, lived, worked, learned to (barely) speak German. For better or worse, my primary Berlin experience is centred on there.
How would you describe your style?
I guess, easy New York with casualness of Berlin and London. Refined with an undone edge.
Which items and brands do you have most of in your wardrobe?
Isabel Marant, Acne, Phillip Lim, sprinkled with a touch of Céline and Saint Laurent (and wishing for more).
What are your beauty essentials?
I’m a beauty and skincare junkie, although I have worn the same fragrance for over 10 years, Hanae Mori Blue Butterfly. I always have red lipstick (usually Nars Jungle Red), eye cream, a ‘radiance’ serum, mascara and concealer.
Which eateries and restaurants do you adore the most?
Dudu has the best Vietnamese food ever; the veggie summer rolls are not to be missed, and I never leave without eating the papaya salad. Lokal has the freshest salads with interesting ingredients and the most delicious homemade breads – I’m a vegetarian and can always find three or four things I want here. Borchardt is a Berlin institution, with high ceilings and gilded pillars.
Are there any bars you love to go to?
Muret la Barba for the best wine selection and staff, and Mozzarella Bar for the same reason.
Which shops, streets and boutiques are thrilling you now in Berlin?
Do You Read Me, a fantastic magazine and book store with obscure titles; Soto, a great menswear concept store with labels such as Raf Simons and Acne; and Objets Trouvés, a homeware store with inspiration at every turn.
Which is your favourite view, and at what time of day?
Our entryway on Mulackstrasse at any time. This street in Mitte is full of unique shops, cafés and promise.

Which cultural centres shouldn’t be missed?
C/O Gallery and, of course, Museumsinsel (Museum Island).
After dark you like to …
Be with my husband!
Which is the best day trip outside the city?
Do you have a top tip to share?
Book ahead for a guided tour of the Boros Collection, an intriguing contemporary art gallery housed in the labyrinthine layers of a former bunker.
