Swedish brand Monki has opened the doors of its first Berlin store, decorated with an imaginative ‘sea of scallops’ theme, in Hackescher Markt. Founded in 2006, Monki is known for its quirky and colourful clothes, and its stores are always decorated to complement the enchanting aesthetic of the brand.
As the theme suggests, the Berlin store is designed with an underwater world in mind, with sunken carousels, tangled shipwreck rigging, sea monsters, jellyfish and seaweed. With a colour scheme of black and white, the store slots perfectly into the trendy Berlin scene, and was designed as an individual space to fit into the capital’s culture. This has the added benefit of letting the wild and wonderful colours of the collection really stand out.
With each collection Monki is getting more exciting and, as the label expands, it’s becoming a real contender for coolest brand on the high street.
