While the 19th arrondissement may not be in the heart of Paris, the neighbourhood offers a lot to be discovered, with sprawling parks, eclectic restaurants and a vibrant bar scene. As one of the most northerly neighbourhoods of Paris, the 19th arrondissement is often overlooked by visitors because of its distance from the city’s main attractions. Thanks to its location to the north-east of the centre, however, the neighbourhood has plenty of green spaces, including the spectacular Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. Its setting in the hilly area of Belleville means it offers extraordinary views of the city, while the park’s varying levels provide plenty to explore. The 19th arrondissement also houses lots of cultural attractions, from the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie to the huge Zénith indoor concert arena.
