Moynat flagship store in Paris
French luxury goods magnate Bernard Arnault has quietly acquired and relaunched the long-forgotten Parisian luggage line Moynat. After 35 years in the doldrums, the venerable French trunkmaker, which was founded in 1849, has come back to life with a chic boutique on rue Saint-Honoré and an artistic director, Ramesh Nair, previously with Hermès and Martin Margiela, to push the limits of design. Moynat’s new atelier produces impeccable French craftsmanship. No more than 10 fine leather pieces are made each day, sold exclusively in Paris at an average price of €3,500.
