Many of the spring/summer 2017 collections were markedly feminine, with all four fashion week cities showcasing collections clearly designed with the modern woman in mind. Tight-fitting, restrictive materials and silhouettes were shunned in favour of softer, flowing fabrics, and designers also offered collections that encompassed several different styles, ranging from seductive to sweet. Underwear as outerwear was another trend to emerge from the four fashion weeks, with the fluid nature of the fabrics and subtle glimpses of underwear giving this trend an overall elegant and empowering aesthetic. From statement sleeves in Milan to a frenzy of stripes in Paris, here are the top SS17 trends to look out for next season.
