Balmain displayed a strong and sharp futuristic collection complete with power shoulders, embellishment and metal detailing – and a hint of summer provided by canary yellow and golden brown. Varying diamond prints were a key theme, while stripes offered a contrasting wardrobe update. Short dresses featured sheer diamond-print designs accessorised with calf-length peep-toe boots for a strong yet feminine rock chick look.
This dark, mysterious collection’s tough leather tops and loose-fitting trousers were mixed with matching bralets and cropped biker-style jackets for a strong and rugged vibe. The rock chick look was further enhanced with a selection of thick metal belts which accentuated the waists of the power-shouldered blazers. As the show progressed, yellow and golden brown were introduced in off-the-shoulder mini dresses and sleeveless waistcoats alongside loose, patterned trousers.
As the collection looked to the future, the cuts became sharper and more exaggerated, while metal detailing became more prominent against carved, structured details.
