Show Report: Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2012

Since Sarah Burton took the helm at Alexander McQueen she has managed to maintain the founder’s signatures – corsetry, tailoring and a taste for the dramatic – while also making her creations lighter in feel and slightly more accessible. This season takes influence from the baroque, with slim silhouettes, ruffles and full-length gowns trailing light sheer and sequined trains down the runway. Encasing the models’ heads in lace focused all the attention on the clothes, and artistic extravagance took centre stage.
