Our second day starts with an early morning couture show at Chanel, followed by a late afternoon showcase from Giorgio Armani Privé

We started the day at the Chanel show, where a set featuring old, broken-down wooden chairs and concrete rubble made us nervous for the new collection.

Once the show started, we saw Chanel’s signature tweed mixed with modern sequins, rough fringing and 80s-throwback oversized jackets with arm warmers, together with futuristic, angular-shouldered pieces that brought together the old and the new.

Modern touches also included super-wide waist belts, geometric midi-dresses and diamond-print sweaters.

In signature Lagerfeld fashion, models closed the show in floor-length, puffball-skirted mesh gowns in midnight black and crystal white, reflecting the designer’s ladylike autumn/winter 2012 couture line.

Giorgio Armani Privé
Giorgio Armani, our last show of the day, took us on a serene journey of sensual femininity. The skin-toned collection featured soft, floaty, knee-length satin skirts teamed with chic, matching tailored jackets accented with black feather chokers.

The simple palette saw hints of prints, sequins and midnight black before the collection continued its feminine, nude-toned theme. Flamboyant dresses with tiered skirts offered a soft, romantic, modern look.
