The finest and highest craft in fashion, haute couture is the jewel in the fashion week crown. The world’s finest couturiers showed off their incredible skills at the spring/summer 2018 Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week to an audience of fashion’s most-discerning clients. This season, designers made a point of presenting modern interpretations of haute couture with largely surrealist collections. At Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri devoted her collection to optical illusions while John Galliano at Maison Margiela created garments that changed colour with a flash of a camera and Jean-Paul Gaultier teased audiences with black and white garments. Take a look at the week’s highlights and standout collections here.
